The update counting is fun. Not only is there books on the device that calibre sees but not in the database, but, you can also have multiple copies of the book on the device, so some get counted twice in the display. I do need to revisit it, but, I'm not sure when that will happen. I need to add the Kobo book stats to the metadata updating at some point. I'll do it then.
