I used to suffer from acid-reflux rather badly. But I didn't want to take a pill. Things that helped:
1) Not eating late.
2) Avoiding eating foods containing fat AND sugar before bedtime.
3) Having a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with lemon juice in water before breakfast every single day.
The last bit has been so effective that even if I occasionally do the first two *bad things*, I rarely have any issue. I talked my husband into the apple cider vinegar (eventually) and now he rarely has any issue either. He looks forward to it, to the point he makes darn sure we never run out of it!
Now, here's how to make the apple cider vinegar bearable.
Take a glass that contains 2 cups of liquid.
Add the juice of a quarter lemon squeezed into the glass. Remove seeds!
Add 2 cups water, (filtered if ya got it)
Add 1 TBSP apple cider vinegar with the mother
Add a pinch of Himalayan pink salt or other salt. (KEY INGREDIENT)
You can also add a pinch of NoSalt (for potassium)
Sweeten with 8-9 drops of liquid Stevia, or other sweetener you prefer. STIR!
Drink through a straw to protect your teeth and rinse your mouth after consuming. Don't brush teeth for a half hour afterward. My concoction is more dilute than some but play it safe.
You can also make lime/lemon infused water overnight in the fridge and substitute that for plain water as a way to make it taste better!
