In the bad old days when all the Kindle fonts were too light for me, I used to add as "extra css" in the "Styling" tab of the "Look and Feel" section of the conversion box:

"*{font-weight:bold !important}"

As someone will surely point out, this overrides everything and can have odd results, but most of the time it worked well enough for me to keep using it.
