Unless you know something the rest of us don't, there isn't. Kobo sells the same device everywhere. Some places might repackage it, but, the device inside is the same. The differences you see are based on the affiliate in the device which is set when you are setting up the device. And the affiliate can be changed.

You mention holding the power button down for 30 seconds, but, that only turns the device of. You should follow the instruction on https://help.kobo.com/hc/en-us/artic...or-Kobo-Elipsa to do the full manual factory reset.
