Really? It's been working fine for me for a decade, no reprocessing observed whatsoever: Amazon just handed them straight back to my kindle for me. I wonder what I was accidentally doing right

I guess sticking the converted files in a directory I can grab them from with the builtin Kindle web browser remains my best option. I kind of doubt the Calibre content server will work with that anemic ancient excuse for a browser, but viewing an Apache-generated directory listing it can handle. Just. (And the whole point of this is being able to look at these things on a Kindle when I wake up in the morning without having to drag a computer over, which is just not something I can face before coffee!)
