This week is 90s week. So far I've seen:
Leon: The Professional: okay, I didn't remember anything from the movie except what the synopsis on IMDB said.
The Substitute: fairly similar to Dangerous Minds (which came out a year later), though with a lower budget. The fight scene about half way through the movie where the main character and a baddie fight hand to hand is really bad. It used to be one of my favourite movies. It's still an entertaining revenge movie
Independence Day: I've never seen it in full. I know my mother and sister started watching it on 9/11 but switched it off when the news broke of the terror attacks. I thought it was okay, good enough to want to see the (lower rated) sequel.
From Dusk Till Dawn: this one didn't age well. The second half is okay, it's mostly mindless violence, but in the first half there were several very cringe-y moments. I must admit Tom Savini's crotch gun still makes me smile. I might give the tv series a try.
Since it's still really warm and I won't be able to sleep for a long while I decided to watch a second movie tonight. The wheel landed on Candyman. Which I've never seen, a first this week.
I've decided to not do a themed week next week. Catch up on some series. After that I spend two weeks watching movies from my Netflix watch list. That's been getting out of hand again.
