I thought I should post my “sort of solution” for my device not synchronizing to Kobo, as a few people seem to be having the same issue. It is a temporary fix because every month or so it will stop syncing again.

What seems to work for me is to leave the device sync with the desktop app for about ½ to an hour sometimes this works. If not then I delete the collections that get changed the most (2 for me) and the sync has worked again (it has worked the last few times). I use Calibre to set all my collections so deleting them is not an issue for me.
