Is it needed with current firmware and devices? The screen quality is much better than in 2012. I think the firmware handles images better so they should appear better than then. Though, I'm sure someone will correct that if it isn't true for CBZ/CBR. No matter what, I would expect the image optimization for the devices available at that time would be different than whichever Libra you have. And it could be different for the Libra H2O and the Libra 2 (same resolution, but other things are different).

You could look at KCC. That will convert an comic to a kepub or epub. It does resize the images to fit the screen. That might be better, but, I have never been sure.

Note, I don't read comics either on the devices or elsewhere. My experience is experimenting when they come up in discussions here.
