The iRex Digital Reader is the follow on to the iLiad from iRex, with similar capabilities.
Based on the iLiad, I initially assumed that "note taking" on eInk devices would be handwriting based. However, it now seems much more likely that everyone except iRex is going to use a keyboard for notes. This will be an on-screen keyboard for most devices. Two reasons for this are:
- works with and without a touch screen
- text is easier to associate with an ebook (which is primarily text)
