Question Koreader: improved rendering of PDFs with background shading?

Some of you may have seen PDFs that have pages that are not pure white, but have some kind of 'shade', usually because they have been copied from a hardcopy book.

These tend to load very slowly.
Almost unusable actually.

Of course one can use an OCR program to convert them and remove the background.

But I was wondering if there was any setting in Koreader that might do the same? For example I notice settings like 'remove watermark', dithering and so on. I thought there MIGHT be something that allowed you to ignore the background 'colour'.
