Hey y'all!
I had a "brilliant" idea -- and now I'm buried in meta-data hell.
I'm creating a library for my crafting patterns (knit and crochet), with custom columns to track things I need to know when looking for a pattern. On
Ravelry, I was able to export my library to a spreadsheet. Is there a way I can use that spreadsheet to ... flesh out(?) the import?
Currently, my patterns are in folders so that Knit and Crochet are "top-level" folders. Inside each of those, I have major pattern categories like "hats", "shawls", etc. For Crochet.Shawls, I clicked "add books" and drilled down the the right directory, then grabbed all the PDFs and imported them. Then, had to go through them manually to clean up Title and Author AND add in the data I want in my custom columns -- amount of yarn, weight of yarn, hook or needle size, shape (for shawls and blankets, etc.). It took the better part of a day to get through just Crochet.Shawls patterns (about 75, I think). With close to 200 Knit.Shawl patterns, I'm suddenly wishing for some way to make this easier.
TL;DR: Is there a way to manage an import with a spreadsheet -- such that values in the spreadsheet are applied to the appropriate entry for the correct pattern? I
really don't want to have to hunt everything down manually!
(I know I'm reaching here, but if I don't ask, you can't surprise me with a good answer!

)
Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions.
