If you followed all the jailbreak steps you should be able to restore KUAL. Then you can use the extension in the thread below to downgrade your firmware. After that, you need to reinstall KUAL and anything else you want.

Thank you, reinstalled the hotfix + kual, and successfully downgraded using the above method. Is there a working OTA update prevention method? I used the one built into KUAL but it didn't prevent the firmware update. I can confirm that the jailbreak does persist into 5.14.3.0.1 (if installed on an earlier firmware first).
Downgrading to 5.14.2 did restore my "display cover" functionality.
