I got a chuckle from the blurb. OTOH, believing Uncle Robin's claim in a later message that his orignal message was humour was hard to swallow. Perhaps you can see the humour in his earlier comment, to wit: "I saw another example of the outstanding care and attention Kobo pays to their website. "Pays" being the operative word here, it seems."

Sorry but that does not strike me as being humourous. Perhaps wording such as "I got a chuckle of this book blurb on Kobo's site and wanted to share it" would have been a better choice if the humorous aspect of the post was the important part.

Whatever your stance on punishment, your word choice in that original message was hardly redolent of humour. I really don't care what you said about Kobo, your opinion is about as important to me as the weather in a land a few thousand kilometres away which I have never visited and never will. What I did object to was the attempt to pass that message off as humour. The attachment was humorous, the content of the message would take a sense of humour warped beyond all recognition to see as humorous.
