I get what you mean about the battery life/effort ratio, but the whole reason I bothered is because I like the Forma alot (except for the atrocious button)
and it seems like Kobo is not keen on making something like it (large capacity of storage but also light with a good battery) again for awhile, if at all.
I found a Forma with this capacity hard to get in Australia. I had to use a freight forwarder to even get them to send it to me.
I don't want a Sage because it is heavier, with a poor battery. So I want to my very-hard-to-get again Forma to last.
I don't think its too hard to avoid completely discharging and only a little hassle to avoid recharging entirely. I wonder if there are chargers that might even do it for you.

With due respect, all the hand-wringing over the battery life is pointless. You (knowingly) purchased a 3+ year old device, albeit an excellent one. (I still use mine) Honestly, just enjoy your Forma for however long it lasts and don't create unnecessary stress. BTW, all the threads regarding Sage vs. Forma are, of course, subjective. I do not find the Sage "too heavy" compared to the Forma and the display is in an entirely different league. Just one more opinion worth less than two cents.
