I'm going to insist: the best way is disabling specific device plugins (kobo, kindle, pocketbook...) and use "connect to folder" instead.

While device plugins are the best way to interact with each brand's propietary interface in their own terms they're not the best suited for KO, which tends to like the "everything is a file" paradigm used by "connect to folder".
