You were already lucky that you've been able to recover your PW5 after trying the jailbreak procedure on unsupported & untested firmware version. You probably won't be so lucky if you continue doing stuff to your PW5. And that model is the worst possible Kindle model to debrick.

What is possible and what you can and should do instead is doing that mentioned edit to revert firmware 5.14.1.1 to old UI that older devices had with firmware 5.13.6 and PW5 for whatever reason still had with its factory firmware 5.14.0.1.


And this link is invalid and not for PW5.
I didn't really go too far with the JB for 5.14.0.1, it gave me an application error during the demo and then I bailed and factory reset it.

Amazon's website says 5.13.7 was supported by PW5.

I do have the old old UI now, which is very cool. Don't have to downgrade.

That bin file is for PW5, I updated my kindle with it.
