I'm having the same issue.
When I send a book to my book club group, the one member with a pocketbook doesn't receive it and I get the "Your email does not contain documents" message. All others go through correctly.
Checking the sent mailbox I see there is indeed an attachment,
Mailing manually appears to work (just tried & have no error), so it's just mailing/sharing via calibre where I get this issue.
This is new behaviour - previously this worked great.
