John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers 'A Hard Road'. The album that introduced the world to Peter Green (as Eric Claptons replacement in the band) and gave aspiring blues guitarists (like myself!) a new star in the firmament of blues guitarists.
Peter left Mayall after a year or so and founded Fleetwood Mac* which went on to become a huge selling band, both before and after Peter departed the band.

* OR to Blues fans, the 'real' Fleetwood Mac, not the mega-selling UK/US hybrid that went on to become stadium filling middle of the road blandness!
