As I understand I could create a column, populate it with my own column's names and then tell Calibre that #column is the collection link. Is it correct? What stop me now is creating a new column change the modify date of all books which is a problem since I'm using that date to follow through some reediting (as my css/html comprehension increase).
You can create a new columns for collections or you can use the two existing columns. There is one called Tags that's used when you are creating collections that are not part of a series and one called Series when you do want to create collections based on series and/or use the Series column to populate the Series field in the Kobo database. You can have series on a Kobo without needing collections.
