Here’s the thing: Amazon’s conversion of EPUB via “send to kindle” is ass. If you want the book to look good on a Kindle when sending via email/app, then convert it to mobi first and then back to EPUB, which essentially strips out anything fancy that trips up Amazon’s lousy epub internal conversion process.
