You seem more bothered by that than actual publishers are. Even Amazon doesn't seem to care any more. They no longer even mention testing how books appear in older formats in their guidance for publishers.

Amazon is gradually adding the missing capabilities to KFX format. In my opinion there is no chance they will ever add any new features to KF8. It has already been frozen for about a decade now.
