I don't remember anything like that before.
Inspired by this, I went ahead and bought a $65 gift card after clicking on the promo link on the website. Exactly zero mention of the $11 at any stage of the process. The $65 card arrived and has now been applied to my account, but after your experience, I find the complete absence of any reference to the reward less than reassuring.
