Those are Kobo compatible stylus, not dumb. Electronics in them.

Also currently only the Sage and Elipsa have the matching electronics. The Kobo stylus (or compatible) certainly does nothing on a Libra or H20. So not point in enabling Notebook icon on anything but an Elipsa or Sage. It can't be added by FW, it would need new Kobo models.

Dumb stylus: €2
Kobo stylus: €40 inc VAT approx.
Apple Pencil in Limerick City: €130 inc VAT.

I looked at styluses on Amazon, but it wasn't clear any would be compatible or 100% compatible. The Elipsa comes with a stylus so I didn't risk buying a 3rd party for a Sage.

Note there are two kinds of dumb stylus, basically one pointy kind can work resistive & Nintendo screens and the other one simulates a finger for capacitative touch (invented 20 years before iPhone but not used due to low resolution).

There are several kinds of digitiser stylus. The original Wacom one needs no battery as the digitiser slate powers it, it does have electronics. Some need batteries. Some can use a layer behind the screen. All true digitiser styluses need an active layer. Resistive is not as good as a true digitiser, but far higher resolution than capacitive.
Only a true digitiser stylus can have pressure sensing and buttons that work properly.
