I've always thought "Nah, Yeah" and "Yeah, Nah" were peculiar to Australia, most especially male aussie rules and rugby league players.


And, as if 'impact' in place of 'affect' and 'effect' wasn't bad enough, we now have 'impactful', usually in place of 'effective'.

I recently heard a politician say "A Royal Commission into <blah blah> would be more 'impactful' than a Parliamentary Committee".

I immediately had a mental image of wigged & gowned barristers climbing into the ring with their gloves on, or confronting one another in The Domain** at dawn with their pistols drawn.
