= using "hotfix" or "jailbreak bridge" installers
And "renameota" (not a hotfix!) is just a KUAL extension to be used by people that really really don't want their device to ever install newer firmware that the one currently installed.
Reasons for that vary.... some people want to revert to older UI that can totally hide "home" / "recommendations" (for that you must stay on 5.14.1[.1]) or some are somewhat ok with "part one" of new UI before Amazon changed / destroyed how Collection sort work with 5.14.2.
And other like to always be on the latest firmware version but also have jailbreak & KOReader & stuff.
Jailbreak is "viral" and if "jailbreak bridge" successfully keeps doing its job you would in the future have like device with fw 5.19.5 that was originally jailbreaked while it was on fw 5.13.3 or whenever.
My PW3 was jailbreaked while on factory firmware build 5.6.5 and is currently at fw 5.13.6 (after spending year "paused" at 5.9.7 with OTA blocker).
