My guess is you somehow pulled the slider that controls the size of the comments box all the way to the right, making the comments section go away.
There are some almost invisible vertical dots next to the delete buttons, for me on the third row. If you move the mouse over those buttons (or directly above or below) the slider cursor will appear. Click and pull it to the left, and the comments box will reappear.
