Wireless charging uses more power, still uses a cable & power unit and often won't let you read in your hand while charging. Extra bulk when travelling. It's a gimmick.

Some create significant interference due to bad design. It's inductive coupling.

Eink based ereaders use so little power and newer ones charge fast. I hardly ever need to charge, as there is sufficient charging when connected to Calibre. I'll leave it connected a while after eject.

Also the frequency of charging is much less than any phone.
