Running Calibre 5.40, and just updated my Libra 2 to firmware 4.32.19501. When connecting for the first time, Calibre gives the message below, saying that the updated Kobo firmware is "not supported" by Calibre, and offering an override by selecting "Attempt to support newer firmware" from the device configuration menu.
I haven't seen anyone else bring this up (or at least have missed it). If I understand the note correctly, an updated version of Calibre will remove this message (by supporting the updated firmware). Do I have this right? Anything I should be doing other than waiting (patiently, and appreciatively) for the updated Calibre version?
Thanks -
Spoiler:
calibre, version 5.40.0
WARNING: Failed: Kobo database version unsupported - See details
Your Kobo is running an updated firmware/database version. As calibre does not know about this updated firmware, database editing is disabled, to prevent corruption. You can still send books to your Kobo with calibre, but deleting books and managing collections is disabled. If you are willing to experiment and know how to reset your Kobo to Factory defaults, you can override this check by right clicking the device icon in calibre and selecting "Configure this device" and then the "Attempt to support newer firmware" option. Doing so may require you to perform a Factory reset of your Kobo.
Discussion of any new Kobo firmware can be found in the Kobo forum at MobileRead. This is at
