If it happens under stock firmware then that's not a good sign, but I wonder if there are any other commonalities other than our hardware generation. When you did your stock test, was that before any extra fonts were sideloaded? Admittedly, I have a lot of fonts and that has given me a lot of low RAM problems in the past when it doesn't free memory properly with random processes getting killed off with no warning (it's why I could never run kfmon; the process would die and I'd have to reboot to get it started again), and given that this thing fixes itself after a reboot (thus freeing ram), I wonder if a process (ex. strickle or something) is getting killed off or can't start up again due to lack of ram? Just shooting from the hip here.
