At least my aunt convinced my father he has to go to a medical rehabilitation center. Last week he just wanted to go home. But she "convinced" (told him straight up) that that isn't an option and he will need more specialized care for a little while.

He only gets 10 minutes of physical therapy at the hospital, which consists of walking up and down the hallway a couple of times. On Saturday he was told he has to leave the hospital this week and when he asked about going to a rehab facility they were vague "it's Easter, blah blah blah". But on Sunday the physical therapist put his foot down and now the hospital is going to arrange my father's move to a facility where he can get specialized care and proper physical therapy to get his strength back.

There are several good rehab centers in the city, but it they don't have a place free he might be placed further away. Which tbh I wouldn't mind, visiting him is taking a lot of my energy. Last week my sister couldn't go for three days in a row so I went and it just wiped me out.

I also told my mother that when my father gets home and starts getting his strength back I not only expect him to actively work on his recovery (and not sit still as he is wont to do when he isn't feeling well), but I also expect him to do household chores, as least until he starts working in the store again. I'm not expecting him to do everything and he'll start with easy chores, but I'm not going to be doing everything when he is able to do things.
