VoiceView (screen reader built in to Kindle) might be of some help in these cases. Using it, you can have it read out the many parts of the UI that use small text (or are just represented with an icon). Even if they make book listings use large text in some future update, they cannot make text larger everywhere, so many features like dictionary lookup will remain essentially inaccessible without the screen reader.

Having played with VoiceView, I’m impressed by how much of the Kindle is accessible without any visual feedback. I’ve only tried it a little bit since the UI changes, but it seemed to work just as well as before.
