I'm an avid bookworm. I've had calibre on my computer for years and love it.
I just joined here today because for the first time ever I have a problem that I cannot seem to resolve. Yesterday out of the blue, on the "edit metadata" pages, the far right comment column simply disappeared. I use this column ALL the time to add helpful book info for myself.
At first I thought the data had been lost but, no, I can get pre-existing data to display through the "layout" feature.
I can see the "comment" section on the "Convert Books" page, however, it will not save or retain any info I input there.
I tried re-installing calibre but that did not help. I don't know if I inadvertently hit some button that made the comment column go into hiding on the "edit metadata" page or if this is some bug that needs to be addressed.
I am lost without this feature. If you can guide me in how to restore this feature I would be forever grateful. My thanks in advance.
Attached are 2 screenshots of the caliber feature I am having problems with... The first shows the pre-existing "comments" info on display on the opening page. The second shows the "edit metadata" page which is now missing the "comments"
section which is usually on the far right of the page.
