There's one today that is free and sounds promising ( Kurtain Motel by A.I. Nasser). But reading the reviews, I see warning signs. Mainly what felt like it was intended to be a single book was instead stretched out into a series.

I've read that one. It was reasonably good. Not one of my top recommendations.
Scare Street as a collective puts out some interesting stuff! Ron Ripley is good. His
Berkeley Street comes up free periodically and is well worth the time to read. I may follow the series.
