The built in docx support isn't great. You might have better luck converting the docx to ePub and using the V2 engine but I don't read Arabic so I'm not sure if it's any better. For Japanese RTL works OK in epubs.
How many third party apps have you tried? I typically use Neoreader for PDFs but I can also highlight multiple words in Xodo (PDF Reader) and the Kobo/Kindle etc. apps just fine.
