I've been on the 'table' in one of Sydney's major teaching hospitals recently, once to clean and staple a wound and a couple of days later for a skin graft.
The theatre and recovery ward staff wore fitted 3M N95 cupped respirator masks, or similar, and face shields. As well as being PCR tested on admission, I was also PCR tested shortly before going to the OT on both occasions.
My GP and practice nurse wear the same masks.
