You are right, btw. I was able to reproduce this on 4.30. I thought the device I was testing was on 4.31 and was flustered for a bit when suddenly it wasn't happening. But I found a combination that would do it and was able to reproduce 3 times, on 2 different computers.

1. Start from a fresh reboot to minimize other variables.

2. Connect Kobo to PC

3. Send a *new* kepub book to the kobo from Calibre.

4. Umount/Eject and disconnect as normal.

5. Open the new book on the Kobo, flip a few pages.

6. Connect Kobo to PC again..... The Kobo is presented with a filesytem flagged as dirty/damaged.
