Don't know where you are but many countries have shutdown 2g already. Still slightly available in the USA & Canada.
Do a google with "2g shutdown" & some sites even state the dates when shutdown will occur; e.g. T-Mobile will shutdown 2g in 2022. Services to 2g/3/g will be sporadic & with no support.
