The overall plot in her fantasy and epic fantasy series I have read have been stronger, but I think that's because there are multiple POVs. A Witch in Wolf Wood is all first person POV from the same character. Book 1 didn't work as well for me either, book 4 was iffy too. But I enjoyed the series overall. The main character's sister was my favorite character. It's a small town filled with quirky characters. There are witches and werewolves. Plenty of humor. Low angst.
