This is exactly right. Just like audiobooks borrowed from the library, you can "download" the files from Scribd or Audible Plus to a device for listening offline but you do not OWN the audiobook. If you cancel your subscription, the files will be inaccessible since the device will need to validate the subscription in order to play. I haven't had any problem with either Scribd or Audible Plus in this regard. Love both services!
