No. The conversion is "convert a book that is in the library and the result to the library". That means the file name of the converted book is controlled by calibre in the same way as all other books in the library.

You said you want to use the file name at some later point. Calibre does not retrain it but that plugin will. At the point you need the file name, such as when doing a save-to-disc, the template that generates the file name can use it.
