It is happening because the plugin is finding a series name but no series index. The plugin collects the metadata and passes it back to calibre to display. Somewhere in that the series index gets set to 1. But, this has not changed. I did check the previous version and if it found a series name but there was no series index, the series index would not be set and calibre handled it.

I don't think the tweak for the series index affects this. There are several choices for that but, the one I have doesn't affect this.
