The image you posted suggests that you have no custom columns of the type integer set up. Go into Preferences => Add custom columns, click on the Type column header and if any Integer columns are available. If you don't see the pages custom column, set it up as per the first message. At the same time, if you want to use word counts or any of the readability statistics columns, you may want to set up their custom columns.

Edit: Also remember custom columns are per library. If you set up the columns on one library, they are not automatically assigned to other libraries.
