Are you sure? I mean, there are no plugins that do what @Karellen has asked. And there are two reasons for that. One is that there is no field down there to updated, and the other is that I do not believe there is a mechanism to hook into to do. Of course, a plugin could do the sum and display it as a message in the status line, but, the plugin would have to be triggered, and the value would disappear as soon as something else was displayed there.

Of course there is the Sum Column plugin. But, it displays the sum in a message box, and has to be run from a button or menu.
