They are, but you have to be clever if you want to get them downloaded for backups. You can only download them if you have an android device; Apple and PC need not apply. The most recent versions of the Android app have moved the files deeper on the device. That's not a problem if you have a rooted device but for normal folk that's not happening. The easiest solution is to use an older version of the app and just don't update. Once you do that getting your books is easy. If you're interested I'll walk you through it.
