Thanks guys and sorry for the late reply, I always have trouble getting new answer notifications...

I guess yes, only way is to disable the auto turn off option. I was a bit confused here because the other half has a Libra 2 and I'm pretty sure all she has to do is just flip the cover and start reading.

BTW, ended up ditching the cover... not only does it make the reader weight a ton, it also has raised edges that make it even harder to grip. I never got used to the way the Inkpad is designed, the curved back makes it hard to balance it in the hand and gripping from below is not only tiresome, I always end up pushing a button sooner or later...

I'm beginning to dislike this ereader I guess but, for now, I'll just keep using the original sleeve that came with it.
