Should I just turn off the auto power off thingy?

I ran into the same issue when I bought a sleep cover for my HD 3. I'm guessing you could turn the "power off" setting... to off and it would probably work. My problem with that is that I love the battery life on the PocketBooks and I think the reason it's so good is that it does turn completely off (like the Sony's did — and batteries lasted forever on those). I think you could set the "Power off after" setting to 60 minutes instead of 10 minutes, so that could probably work for when your reading but stop to eat lunch or something.

Is there an effective, light case you would recommend?

I bought the OEM one (here in the U.S. at Amazon they're relatively cheap). Very light and compact. But I don't know if I would recommend them. Mine has already had a corner chip off (the "slim shell" cases always do that to me). I bought a dark grey one and they sent me a light grey one, so I set up and exchange, but when the dark grey came in the sleep feature didn't work, so I kept the original one. So... I'm not that impressed with the quality. But size and feel is really nice. (Maybe I just had a run of bad luck.)

My device's config sleeps for 10-15 minutes and opening the case will wake it up, but once it's off, you need to use the on button. Pocketbook confirmed this.
Sorry, that made sense in my head. I also tried to find out if I could turn it on via one of the other buttons (like my old Palm Pilot could). Sadly, answer no.

I actually wondered about this before I bought the sleep cover, because (as mentioned above) the PocketBooks work like the old Sonys (except I think the Sonys went out to four hours or so and they didn't have sleep covers — but they did "wake up" with a quick touch of the power button until they turned off completely). Again, battery life is great on the Sonys, I think (partially at least) because of this. It wouldn't be as a big a deal if the dang power button was better placed and easier to push.
Sorry to ramble.
