This is why OP is complaining: List view has ‘pretty pictures’ now. Apparently ‘ugly pictures’ would be preferable..

Seriously, I have come to like having the thumbnails, but if/when Amazon updates the UI they should consider adding:

- ‘Compact’ List view (no thumbnails, maybe just 2-3 lines of information instead of 4) so it shows more like 8 items per page
- Collections view List mode

Personally I think navigation is better with the scrolling feature. You can jump to any location by tapping on the corresponding position on the scroll bar; no longer have to swipe multiple times (sometimes accidentally opening a book) or use the hidden Go To dialog. You can also drag the scroll position indicator, and hold the page buttons down to scroll through things.

With a long list, it’s always been faster to use Search, and this doesn’t really change that.
