As far I understand from what is posted on Eink's site, ACeP uses 4 colours of pigment so no colour filter is needed. I haven't found any information on the refresh rate for the Plus displays but hopefully, the refresh speed has been improved to the point where you read books or take notes on it. I've attached an image what the ACeP Microcup is supposed to look like.
