That kind of communication blunder killed the Osborne-1 computer, didn't it? The company said that there was a new and improved version (or two) coming, so noone bought the current one. Result: no cash flow, no money to pay developers, no new and improved version, and, after a while, no Osborne company.
Sony won't go belly-up that easily, but the product line might -- if everyone stops buying Reader 1, and decides to wait for Reader 2.
