it looks as if kobopatch.bat has never properly got going.

Did you download a copy of the 4.30 firmware .zip file (kobo-update-4.30.18838.zip) and copy it to the \src subdirectory before you tried to run kobopatch.bat?

If the answer to the above is 'No' then please do so and rerun kobopatch.bat by double-clicking on it.
I tried to run the .bat file, then read the instructions again and thought I might need a copy of the firmware. Initially, I thought I only needed this if I was also installing the firmware then realised that the instructions in the .yaml files might need to integrate with the firmware in the patch. I hope that makes sense.

So I found and downloaded the correct firmware and unzipped it into the src file. I'm not sure if this was the correct place to put it. All the contents from the unzip are now loose in the src file.

In the src file I can see:
KoboRoot (a folder containing all manner of strange things)
kobo-update-4.30.18838 (a folder containing the upgrade folder and manifest.md5sum)
download_firmware_here.txt
kobopatch.bat
KoboRoot.tgz
libadobe.so.yaml
libnickel.so.1.0.0.yaml
librmsdk.so.1.0.0.yaml
nickel.yaml

Is this what I ought to be seeing?

I've put yes and no in the yaml files depending upon whether or not I want that function. That seemed the easy bit, especially where you put links to mobileread pages and images in order to make it clear what the patches did.

As you can probably tell from my dedication, I'm determined to get this done. I'm very visual and fonts are important.

Thanks for the help.
